Write Bin Files To Floppy

Discussion in 'Software' started by n3et, Nov 21, 2007.

To write the floppy disk image files to the floppy disks, you will probably need root access to the system. Place a good, blank floppy in the floppy drive. Next, use the command $ dd if= filename of=/dev/fd0 bs=1024 conv=sync; sync.

  • Jump to solution. The attached RedBoot.zip file contains the RedBoot.bin file and the RedBoot.vmx file. No need to rename anything or change the size of the.bin file. Just extract the files to the same directory and double-click the RedBoot.vmx file.
  • For Windows XP/Vista, please use v0.9 (in the files archive). Warning: Issues have been reported when using to write to USB Floppy drives (and occasionally other USB devices, although very rare). While this has been fixed in v1.0, it is highly recommended that before an image is written to a device, the user should do a Read to a temporary file.
